Shiatsu Workshop

Japanese for "finger pressure", shiatsu uses finger and palm pressure as well as gentle stretching along the same meridians used in acupuncture to harmonize energy flow in the body, loosen tight muscles, and promote well being.

In this half-day workshop, each couple (or pair) will be guided through giving each other a Shiatsu massage. There will be a light lunch provided halfway through the workshop.

Shiatsu is performed on a mat, fully clothed and is suitable for children and adults.

*A partner is required & each individual must sign up separately. The price for the workshop is per person.

More about our teacher:

Aubrey, one of the founders of Inner Rivers Oriental Medicine in Hardwick, VT, has over 18 years of experience as a massage therapist. He studied Zen Shiatsu with Kiku Zutrau-Miyazaki, co-founder of the AOBTA ( American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia) in a 2 year program at Boston Shiatsu School. He practiced in VT and Cape Cod after graduating, and was invited to the AOBTA conference in 2000, to assist Ryokyu Endo, keynote presenter and founder of Tao Shiatsu. He continued to study Tao Shiatsu and Aikido in Kyoto, Japan with Endo sensei for 5 years, including workshops in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Thailand. In addition to specializing in shiatsu, Aubrey also practices Thai massage and La Stone therapy. Aubrey has taught shiatsu at CCV, and continues to enjoy learning, most recently at a thai massage intensive in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He is dedicated to treating each person with empathy as to what they most need to feel balanced and relaxed, helping them to return to a natural state of health.
